A member asked:

If no complications putting stent put in heart for blockage 85/95%. would it later need to be redone ? also chances of heart attack with stent ?

Both drug-eluting and non-drug-eluting stents can last for years, even decades without need for revision. The stent maintains blood flow and thereby decreases risk of heart attack.

Unfortunately, there is no simple answer. The likelihood of needing repeat stenting cannot be determined with confidence. Not clear if you have residual blockages that may progress and cause a recurrence. Follow the best diet and medications and stay under supervision of your cardiologist. If you smoke, stop. Make your diet as good as possible and control your cholesterol and other risk factors.
