A member asked:

I hike a lot, and sometimes the area between my toes gets a think extra layer of callus that really hurts. i accidentally ripped it, and clear fluid came out which i quickly soaked up with a tissue. it's partially open still. what should i do?

Wash the affected area and feet and keep the area dry. Apply triple antibiotic cream to the raw area to prevent/treat infection. You may wish to consult a podiatrist for preventive measures against the calluses. Get HPV, Flu and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!

Your description sounds like as if you have a blister on your hands or in this case on your toes. For now you want to keep it clean and a topical antibiotic and cover it with a Band-Aid until it heals as far as preventative care do you need to check to see if your shoes are wide enough. Or you should wear some type of protective padding while hiking
