A member asked:

I'm almost 61 yrs old. recently had a mammogram and the result breast tissue is scattered fibroglandular density. we have a history of breast cancer in both paternal and maternal parents. should i be concerned if any?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is still a negative mammogram but the density and family history are risk factors and continued surveillance, usually annually, is important. Every mammogram report should comment on breast density and a significant amount is an indication for a breast ultrasound study as well. This sounds reasonable from the information provided, so check with your doctor.
