Tincture of Time. Sounds like the needle actually came in contact with a nerve. It will take some time but should completely heal.Important that you notify your Dentist so that (s)he can monitor. Your Dentist is responsible for your post-treatment care.

What you had is a block anesthesia that can cause these symptoms as well as on your lower lip and cheek. This will wear off in a few hours, not days. When i inject my patients for cavities or an extraction this is often the same symptoms. This is the result of a perfect injection for lasting numbness.
