Possible but unlikely. If a 17 year old has symptoms suggesting prostatitis, it probably is more likely he has genitally focused anxiety or the chronic pelvic pain syndrome. CPPS is sometimes still called chronic prostatitis, but may not involve the prostate. Google CPPS (spell it out) for more information.
