A member asked:

I had a cerebral avm (arteriovenous malformation) removed 10 years ago (located at the back of my brain on my optical track). i am now 25 and would like to try for a baby, would there be any risks for me or the baby now?

If you are otherwise healthy and have no genetic mutations, with good prenatal care, the baby should be healthy. Follow your OB's advice and eat a healthy diet.

Your AVM has been successfully handled, and AVM's once removed do not recur. There is no described brain malfunction which would prohibit pregnancy, or labor and delivery.
