A member asked:

If a 19-year-old is infected with the hpv virus(high or low risk),hpv vires completely clear is more commonly seen in people of that age group than vires dormant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This family of genital viruses is well known to go through a transmissible primary stage, lasting up to 2 years before going dormant, or not contagious. Some describe that as clearing but they can remain dormant for years/decades and remain deep in tissue. Age of infection does not change its behavior.
