IQ tests are not memory tests, so the answer to your question is no. Episodic impairments in short-term memory && a slower rate of new learning can be part of the normal aging process especially when long-term memory & semantic memory remain intact. Dementia typically has loss of abstract thought, and impairments in problem solving, insight and judgment. Neuropsych testing can assess this.

There are many online tests that purport to evaluate cognitive function, but in my opinion, if absent physician review and oversight, are essentially misleading and not useful. There are many causes of memory loss, and several are readily reversible. If you are experiencing this, have your doctor advise whether you need this further explored.

An IQ test is not the appropriate assessment instrument for memory although it may provide some helpful information. You need to see a neuropsychologist. If you don't have insurance or out of pocket money please seek support from social services in your area or contact your state psychological association. Peace and good health.
