That is a question you ask the personnel involved. You can request anything you wish, however the kids need trump your own when it comes to providing them with a feeling of security during any such procedure. If you abandon them at that point what message does it sent to them? Would they be more or less distressed ? Life gives you choices to make.

It is fine to request that the vaccinator to use the examination table when administering the vaccinations. If you are able to stay in the room and hold the baby's hands or to soothe the baby, it may be helpful.
