Hi doctors. why would my stool look dark brown to almost black on the outside in the toilet, but when i wipe it looks yellowish and then more typical brown color? could the dark brown to almost black only on the outside possible sign of colon cancer?

Causes of black stool are bleeding from the upper gi tract, not the colon, taking iron or taking peptobismol.or kaopectate. A simple test in the physicians office can test a stool sample for presence of occult blood if you still have concerns.
