If you have no symptoms, including fever, cough and sorry throat, you are unlikely to transmit the virus. The incubation period includes the days prior to your nephew's first symptom. Shedding in stool may occur, avoid contact with secretions. Good hand washing is recommended.

Almost every kid gets HFMD by age 3. You likely had it as a child. You also have likely been exposed again and again through the years you worked in daycare, so you likely have a very robust immunity to it. That being said, you can transmit virus if you have it on your hands and touch mucous membrane of a non-immune baby. So wash, wash, wash and then wash your hands and you'll be fine to work.
