A member asked:

Will having a bone biopsy give my dr the correct info about my cancer (metastatic breast cancer to bone) and how to exactly treat it?

Yes. This will provide information about the type of cancer cells in the bone. Based on this, your doctor can modify existing treatment plans as needed.

It would only help if the site of biopsy has the cancerous tissue. Metastatic lesions are patchy and a random biopsy may not detect the lesion.
