If the upper abdominal discomfort is not accompanied by aggravation by a deep breath or tenderness at the junction of thr ribs &breastbone,I'm reluctant to attribute the symptoms to costochondritis & would be thinking of gi conditions like gastritis or peptic ulcer.Gall bladder or pancreatic pathology are other possibilities. If your PCP agrees, consult a gastroenterologist. Take pepcid
