Halo nevi are : Unsightly, but benign, as are nevi (moles) with hair growing out of them. If your son repeatedly irritates the scalp mole when combing his hair, have a dermatologist remove it. See http://www.Dermatopedia.Com/halo-nevus/.

Halo nevus : At times there is a whitish halo that surrounds a mole. A so called halo nevus it is impossible to know for sure unless a dermatologist evaluates the area. The key is determining whether the mole is abnormal or not. See your dermatologist.
