Hairy mole: In general, "moles" should be checked by experienced practitioners and biopsied or followed if necessary. Hair, growing or not, doesn't usually enter into it. Although most melanoma and basal cell neoplasms do not grow hair, some dark hairy patches can be serious, see: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1295033-overview
