Enemas would only help your evacuate what’s in your rectum but stool starts forming in your colon which is about 5-6 feet in length. So best way to treat your problem is at the source (diet) - with appropriate fiber and water intake hopefully your stools would be softer and easier to pass without need for enema. If still constipatedadding over the counter fiber supplement or stool softener is best

You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
