A member asked:

I recovered from cold about 2 weeks ago and didnt get tested for covid and ever since i havent been able to fully smell anything unless i put it next to my nose, i can taste everything and i have no issues, is my nose congested or was it covid?

While a significant sign of C-19 is loss of smell, the common cold can also do that. Had you been vaccinated? C-19 tests are commonly free from government sources so worth your time to get that. That will resolve your doubt.

If the nasal congestion has resolved, and the loss of smell persists, COVID-19 is one likely cause. An ENT appointment and specific evaluation of this symptom recommended. Rinse with nasal saline and discuss steroids applied topically with your physician.
