Sometimes when sleeping or falling asleep i jolt awake feeling as if my heart is stopping. i do have moderate sleep apnea and use a nasal mask. this happens even while wearing the mask. could this indicate a heart problem? i have good blood pressure?

If this is happening on a regular basis, you should see your doctor. When was your last sleep study? A sleep study would confirm that the pressure you are using is the right amount to address your sleep apnea. Hello. When you say that you have sleep apnea and use a nasal mask, I’m assuming you are referencing CPAP. Sometimes the pressures of CPAP or the masks need to be adjusted. Heart troubles can worsen if the sleep apnea isn’t properly treated. Blood pressure can also improve with CPAP. It sounds like you might benefit from a repeat sleep evaluation. I hope this helps.
