A member asked:

I have mild dengue fever. is it safe to breast feed my 2 year old kid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breastfeeding is fine. "As per expert advice, breastfeeding is safe if the mother is infected with dengue. Research suggests that this risk of transmission of dengue virus from mother to the baby through breast milk is very low. The benefits of breastfeeding during maternal infection are much higher than the chances of infection to the baby"
