Pectus: Sometimes the sternum is recessed to varying degrees called pectus excavatum. This is a congenital issue and does not suddenly appear but is present from birth. At your age the problem should not progress. Severe pectus can cause respiratory problems and for significant cosmetic reasons some individuals have surgical intervention. If mild change, should not intervene and willl not progress.
