In this day and age, important that you have COVID-19 testing. Yes, this may represent an old fashioned upper respiratory tract infection, but best you have your doctor exclude alternative infections. And perhaps a chest X ray to exclude pneumonia.

A muscular issue is definitely suggested by your description. Other conditions cannot be ruled out. If pain is persisting after your cough settles mention it to your doc for a focused exam.
