Need Exam: What you are describing sounds like it could be a hernia, however, this would have been seen during exploratory surgery 1 month ago. I recommend that you return to see your surgeon and describe these symptoms so that a formal exam can be performed. We are a "hands-on" profession and nothing can replace a careful physical examination. Good luck!

Postop pain: This is likely just normal postoperative pain, but it could be a sign of a hernia. If you notice a bulge in or around your belly button, see your physician.
