Is 6.11 bad for a thyroid blood test?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if the result is for TSH, it indicates hypothyroidism and you need to talk to your doctor about replacement medication. Wish you good health!

If you mean TSH of 6.11, it is only borderline high. If you are asymptomatic and your free T4 is still in normal range, we usually do not initiate treatment yet. However, if your free T4 is low or you have symptoms of hypothyroidism such as weight gain, skin or hair problem, etc., I will have the thyroid panel rechecked then decide to treat if numbers are confirmed.
