My son has an unusual big head no one else in the family does hes 15 and 58, he has constant headaches after sports and needs painkillers to help with it could there be anything serious and what could be the cause of his big head?

Cannot diagnose problem in this venue. Recommend that your son take all of the baseline data his pediatrician or GP has been collecting over the years, especially from the Physical he should have had before starting this year's sports activities, and seek additional evaluation. See specialist in Sports Medicine, Orthopedist, Neurologist, or have him evaluated at a teaching hospital or med school

Definitely time to seek medical attention. Hydrocephalus is suggested by description and among other possibilities. His pediatrician or family physician would be your best resource as being able to coordinate work up/ referrals locally.
