Diabetes (with high blood sugar) can trigger yeast infections, but most vaginal yeast infections have nothing to do with diet, sugar intake, etc. Probably no need for such a diet. Once weekly fluconazole (Diflucan) might be an option. Or you might have a yeast resistant to the "azole" drugs like fluconazole. In that case, ask doctor about other Rx, e.g. micafungin, caspofungin, or flucytosine.

Using steroid cream to the vaginal area can decrease your ability to eradicate the yeast infection. The steroids may help the itching due to inflammation, but not the infection.
