The results you provided are likely to be from a glucometer and are only approximations. You may get a fasting plasma glucose done at an accredited lab. However, the information you provided suggests that you do not have diabetes.

A pizza/cake is not a standardized GTT. The best screening test is the HbA1c but most are not done properly with 2 weeks dietary preparation before. Recommend you spend ~$20 and get a one month's subscription to uptodate.com and read the sections on diabetes so you will have a much better understanding of how to assess risk in you and your family. Good luck. One key is to keep BMI under 25.

You should not worry about being diabetic as your present blood sugar is normal. As long as your fasting blood sugar is less than 100 mg, you are normal. Most people have prediabetes(defined as FBS of 100-125mg) before they become diabetic. . Keep your weight normal, then you do not have to worry about DM anymore.

Hi, and thank you for your professional choice! I’d get another HgbA1c soon, and continue to check blood glucose levels at least a couple or three times a week—and record, either on the glucometer, as most all have memory storage, or on a log sheet—and vary the times: fasting or a couple of hours after a meal. Bring the results to your family doctor at you very next visit. Best to you!

These tests do not show that you have diabetes at this time. It is normal for blood glucose to increase after what you ate. Your fasting BG was normal, which is a good sign. I would still follow up with your doctor and have a repeat HgbA1c and monitor your BG periodically at home as you have a family history.
