Vitamin C, which is ascorbic acid, is itself actually capable of irritating your stomach lining. This is especially true with higher doses, but some people can't even tolerate mild doses. Taking aspirin with a full glass of water and food in your stomach may prevent irritation of the stomach lining.

Vitamin C does not help but it may exacerbate the acid effect of Aspirin. If you are taking Aspirin for a short time, take with full stomach. If you have to take it for a long time and you are at risk of heart burn or PUD, you can take the enteric coated aspirin.
