Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Folic acid for her: When trying to conceive, best for female to take prenatal vitamins immediately to lower risk for neural tube defects. As for male partner, avoid testosterone supplementation w/gel/cream/lotion, patch or injection, which can decrease fertility unless using hCG or clomiphene as noted by Dr. Patel. Go see Family Doc for preconception counseling. Review current medications for Category X.
