People have made remarkable recoveries from depression and anxiety with the help of medication. The specific questions you ask are difficult for any doctor to answer definitively (as people can respond differently). Though some physical improvement may be noted as early as 1-2 weeks, it's reported that it can take up to 6-8 weeks for full benefit. Have faith & don't give up. I wish you the best!

Depression and lack of motivation can take up to 8 weeks to respond are are usually the last of the symptoms to go away. For some patients it can take up to 12 weeks to get a full response. I prefer to tell patients to wait a bit longer if they can but if things get serious then call your doctor
