It is possible the cat got something on its fur that you are allergic to. Animals may run through poison ivy or any toxic substance and then come cuddle on you. Also, you may be allergic to this one particular cat while not being allergic to cats in general. Thirdly, you may be allergic to something in your neighbor's house.
