Allergic???: You are getting "shots" to reduce allergic reactions to cat?? Asthma? How can you continue to keep a cat? You should trade the cat for a pet rock. Consider antibiotic for cat scratch bacteria [azithromycin] and a topical steroid.

Allergy/infection: Cat scratches often get infected, and the usual antibiotic treatment is a tetracycline. Infections can itch, but intense itching is more likely caused by an allergic reaction. Treat allergy with a topical antihistamine or take benadryl(diphenhydramine) by mouth. If not better quickly, then antibiotics may be needed. I agree with Dr Dohan that if you are allergic, it's problematic to own a cat!
