There are many possible etiologies for your symptoms. If the rib hurts to touch, it could be a rib fracture or contusion. If the pain is between the ribs when touched, it could be inflammation of the cartilage (costochondritis). It could be inflammation of the lining of the lung (pleurisy). It could be airway inflammation associated w/ wheezing. All of these have different treatments. See doctor

I agree that you must be examined and evaluated by a physician but do not wait a month to do so. You don't mention your age or if you've had any recent leg swelling, but I have seen mu.ltiple pulmonary emboli cause these types of symptoms
