A member asked:

What would happen if i touched an antique shoe from closet from the 1950s that had some dirt on it and i had a small cut on hand?

Any such cut could become infected by tetanus spores from that contact which can lie dormant. Most other germs would have likely died off long ago. If your Tetanus booster is within the last 10 years and you clean and monitor the site you should be fine.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. You may apply triple antibiotic ointment to the wound to prevent infection. Old dust is no more dangerous than new dust. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!
