If you have noticed blood in your stool and are concerned about anemia, please see your primary care physician or urgent care. The cause of the blood loss is more pressing than any change in dietary habits.

Severe anemia can cause pica and/or binging on strange foods, with weight gain. The PCP, Gastroenterologist and Hematologist should all be consulted sooner than later.
