Calculation of corrected QT interval becomes difficult with an irregular rhythm since the R-R intervals are irregular. One recommendation is to to measure the QT interval immediately following the shortest RR interval. Some have suggested that beat to beat variability of the QT intervals is also suggestive of the long QT syndrome.
