A member asked:

If a man with high risk hpv has sex again with a healthy woman (if they are married) will it be difficult for the woman's immune system to clear the viruses?(if they have sex at least 10 times a month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Patients go through a primary infection stage where they shed virus and can pass it to others. The virus is then suppressed by the immune system to the point would rarely spread. In some respects this is a clearance, however all HPV strains are members of a virus family well known for hibernating for years/decades. If you had sex with her during contagious stage she has it too. Paps required.
