The incubation period (time from exposure to getting COVID) is 2 to 14 days,so you could still turn positive up to 14 days from the last time you were with him within his 10 days of isolation.Being fully vaxxed does help but is not 100%. You didn’t say whether or not your helper was vaccinated.If she was not, that could also be why she is + and you are not. Watch for your own symptoms for 14 days.
