Is there an upper limit on right ventricular free wall thickness in athlete's heart? mine is at 9mm. i do not have hypertension?

I believe the upper limit of normal is 5mm. A cardiac MRI can be done to assure presence of perfectly normal RV function which would help point to physiological rather than pathological enlargement. Again, a cardiologist could advise you best. I think it's quite important to get accurate advice when your heart is concerned.

If the right ventricular free wall is 9 mm thick, it is abnormal. However, wall thickness measurements are subject to error and this measurement should be verified before it is interpreted in isolation. It is rare to have right ventricular hypertrophy without other findings associated with pulmonary hypertension or or a congenital cardiac abnormality. Suggest that an expert review study.
