I am on 15mg methotrexate for uctd, it has greatly helped symptoms. i work in a nicu, but can be floated to other places. should i be working (sitting in room 1:1) with covid+ pts or requesting different areas?

Yes. Your immune system is “weakened” by both the UCTD and the methotrexate. Even if you received the coronavirus vaccine your response to it is likely to be weaker than others Would definitely request reassignment to stay with a patient without ANY known communicable disease. Since you work in the NICU with critically ill infants, please do not report to the unit when you are ill, have any symptoms or fever. Please discuss a third vaccination with your physician. Assignment to a ward depends on the medical center, but your condition should be considered.Use good hand washing, hand sanitizer and social distancing.
