Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD. If you think you cannot get pregnant, e.g. you have not had sex since the last period, there is nothing to worry about. Period delay or even missed period is common, especially you were traveling. If you think you cannot get pregnancy because you were using contraceptive method, no contraception period is 100% effective then a negative urine pregnancy test can clear up your concern.
