Apparently not. But … HIV takes years/decades to cause immune system damage. Coronavirus (including Delta variant) simply hasn’t been around that long.

No, they have completely different pathways of involving and affecting immunity in the long range. HIV is targeting the immune system, while COVID is involving the immune system like any other viral infection within its own specific ways.
