A member asked:

Can i get liver cirrhosis at age 20 and how rare would this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A person at your age could get cirrhosis due congenital anomalies, like alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, biliary atresia, and may be disorders of copper and iron, or neonatal infection with hepatitis B virus. In the absence of an underlying disorder, the risk of cirrhosis in a 20-year old is virtually non-existent.
