Can i use pantoprazole for long term what are side effects for long term use?

I can try and answer this for you from personal experience. I have been on it for 7 years and no problems. There are studies, though, that talk about increased bouts of pneumonia and some GI problems in people with long term use. I imagine it has to do with why you need them in first place. I have GERD and have symptoms if I'm off them for just a couple days. Talk to your doc-you are so young!
