Protonix (pantoprazole): The most common side effects from taking Protonix (pantoprazole) are headaches, constipation, gas , and nausea. There is a long list of potential side effects that are really rather rare but these are the ones I have seen in clinical practice. Occasionally someone will have diarrhea or abdominal pain as well.

Nice full list: Here is a nice link: http://www.Rxlist.Com/protonix-drug/side-effects-interactions.Htm also here: http://www.Drugs.Com/sfx/protonix-side-effects.Html but, in my practice it has been well tolerated by most. Every drug has side effects and almost every drug has rare ones that can sound scary.
