Vegetables are a vital source of vitamins and minerals, but also of fiber. Fiber keeps the intestines flowing smoothly and forms regular stools. There is no pill form substitute. Eating vegetables also helps to keep the stomach full so that individuals do not overeat protein, fat and sugars. It is a common fact that people who eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables are not typically obese.

A balanced diet, exercise, and avoidance of toxins, such as smoking can support stable health. Vitamins are best used if there is a specific deficiency. Multi-vitamins are usually a waste of money, may not contain what is listed on label, may not get absorbed into the body, and may well pass through unchanged into the urine.
