A member asked:

Can dull swallowing pain when swallowing saliva that comes and goes be caused by gerd? or could it be caused by nerve problems? ive heard that usually, throat nerve problems cause sharp pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The chances of GERD causing throat pain is if it is severe. You may want to drink water intermittently to keep the back of the throat moisturized. It is possible that you may be mouth breathing with high chances of dryness causing the pain rather than GERD. Being anxious or nervous could cause lots of symptoms, however dust and allergies could also increase chances of mild throat pain.
