Right side discomfort. gallbladder ultrasound normal but positive murphys sign. the area is itchy. right flank/back is tender & painful. kidney/liver blood tests normal. bloated. if not gallbladder then what?

If I highly suspect gall bladder symptoms despite a negative ultrasound I ask the patient to be seen by an abdominal surgeon for an opinion. I do this because I have seen negative gall bladder ultrasounds in the presence of sludge or nonopaque gallstones and cholecystectomy resolved the issue.
