Alt 42 iu/l (ref range 0-61) & ast 31 iu/l (ref range 5-34) both in reference range but higher than usual for me (usually both 14-18ish). could being on prilosec 40mg or taking an aleve 2hrs prior to test explain the increase? increase concerning?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that,as you said, the results are within normal limits and the mild rise could be due to medication you are taking. There is no cause for concern. Wish you good health!
