No, she cannot. Sperm only stay alive for max of 3-4 days. However, the key is TO KNOW FOR SURE when you are going to ovulate. If you think it is going to be on the 15th of the month, and instead you ovulate on the 11th instead, now you are in the window of viability for the sperm. I would not use this as my primary method of birth control unless you have months of basal tempperature data...
