I constantly have pain in my jaw but its not just pain, my jaw on the left side completely dislocates every time i open my mouth and i have had it for many years. can a chiropractor or pt help with this or does it sound like it may be more surgical?

Would not recommend using a chiropractor or physical therapist for this, as the techniques available would not restore structural integrity. Suggest finding an experienced oral surgeon, perhaps at a dental school, and having this fully evaluated. In the interim, a nocturnal splint might help.

SEE AN TMJ SPECIALIST OR AN ORAL SURGEON FOR A CONSULT. YOUR JOINT KEEPS SLIPPING OUT OF YOUR CONDYLE AND YOU MAY NEED A DENTAL APPLIANCE TO HELP THIS SITUATION.
